The ME & Lau Family Foundation (ME) believes in music.
ME believes that music improves the quality of life for all people including the people with intellectual disabilities and their families. Music brings people together, fostering a sense of belonging and community through shared experiences and performances.
This is why the ME and Lau Family Foundation continues to invest in our music program including the ME String Music Art Exhibition where we leverage on the power of the orchestra performance to inclusively enhance the participation of people with intellectual disabilities.
The "ME Orchestra Musician of the Year Award" was created to recognize musicians who have focused on instrumental excellence, contribution to the orchestra, and dedication to music education and community engagement for people with intellectual disabilities.
Good musicians are essential to an orchestra because their individual talent, technical skill, and collaborative spirit directly impact the overall quality and artistic expression of the ensemble. A skilled orchestra, comprised of exceptional musicians, can achieve a cohesive, nuanced, and emotionally resonant performance that elevates the music and inspires audiences.
